Bon Jovi es una banda estadounidense de rock, formada en Nueva Jersey en 1983 por Jon Bon Jovi. El resto de la formación original la completaban el guitarrista Richie Sambora, el tecladista David Bryan, el baterista Tico Torres y el bajista Alec Jonh Such; este último abandonó la formación en 1994 y fue sustituido de forma no oficial por Hugh McDonald. En 2013 Richie Sambora abandonó la banda de forma definitiva, siendo sustituido en la última gira por Phil X. Con su tercer álbum de estudio, Slippery When Wet, vendieron alrededor de 28 millones de copias, siendo el más vendido del año 1987 en Estados Unidos. De ahí sobresale su tema de mayor éxito: Livin' On a Prayer, considerada como la mejor canción de rock de la década de los ochenta por la cadena estadounidense VH1.
