Mýa Marie Harrison es una cantante, compositora, bailarina, actriz y modelo estadunidense, conocida en el medio artístico como Mýa. Nació el 10 de octubre de 1979 en Washington, Distrito de Columbia, Estados Unidos. Su nombre fue inspirado en la poetisa y novelista Maya Angelou. Niñez, Juventud y Vida Familiar Mýa se crio en Maryland, Washington DC, junto a Sherman, su padre, de origen afroamericano y a su madre, de origen italoamericana, Theresa Harrison, además de sus dos hermanos menores, Chaz y Nijel. Desde niña sintió pasión por la música, tuvo influencia de su padre, que como músico la impulsó a tomar clases de violín. También, después de la escuela, dedicaba tiempo danzas como ballet, tap, jazz.
