Cameron Jibril Thomaz, conocido en el mundo artístico como Wiz Khalifa nació en Minot, Dakota del Norte el 8 de septiembre de 1987 de una madre y un padre que servían en el ejército. Sus padres se divorciaron cuando Khalifa tenía unos tres años de edad. El servicio militar de su padre le hizo moverse con regularidad. Khalifa ha vivido en Alemania, Reino Unido y Japón antes de establecerse en Pittsburgh, donde asistió a Taylor Allderdice High School. Significado del nombre Su nombre artístico Khalifa proviene de una palabra árabe que significa "sucesor", y la sabiduría, que fue acortado a Wiz Khalifa, cuando era un niño.
