► Biografía de Metallica

Metallica es una banda del género heavy metal, conformada en la actualidad por Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett y Robert Trujillo. Fue fundada en el año 1981 en Los Ángeles, California, Estados Unidos, por Lars Ulrich y James Hetfield, posteriormente se unió Lloyd Grant y Ron McGovney, quienes al tiempo fueron sustituidos por Dave Mustaine (guitarra) y Cliff Burton (bajo). Mustaine fue despedido un año después de ingresar en la banda por adicción a las drogas y al alcohol, y fundó la banda Megadeth, siendo sustituido por Kirk Hammett. En 1986, la muerte de Cliff Burton en un accidente de autobús en Suecia provocó la entrada al grupo de Jason Newsted, que quince años más tarde, sería sustituido tras su deserción por el bajista actual de la banda, Robert Trujillo.
